It’s been Monday morning for about a decade now

So funny! I was at the post office this morning buying stamps — trying to swipe my credit card and .  .  .  it was not working. Try again. Nothing.  Meanwhile, the young person behind me helpfully points out that I am trying to swipe along a long groove that is related to the construction of the machine — NOTHING to do with, NO WHERE near, the credit card magnetic strip groove! So embarrassing — I thanked her and swiped where one is supposed to. Success.
She kindly said, “Well, it’s Monday morning, you know.”
I said to her, “It’s been Monday morning for about a decade now!”
I know I look like “just an ordinary old person” when in fact, I am ME, a “NOT old person.”
Worse (or funnier still depending on your point of view): I now know THAT I am “losing it” and that bothers me. Pretty soon, I won’t know that I am “losing it” — and it will cease to bother me! Need a lot of grace and humor for this stage.
